Elleschild Joinery

I’m Josh Elleschild, a joiner & creative based in South East Cornwall.

I specialise in bespoke, one of a kind projects, ranging from fitted cabinetry and heritage doors all the way to contemporary kitchens, architectural staircases and commercial shop fittings. I find great joy in bringing thoughtful design and elegance to objects often regarded as mundane.

I’ve also designed my own high performance, sliding sash window that both holds true to the delightful details of time tested tradition, whilst discreetly boasting the benefits of modern high-performance windows.

A key principle in my work is that it should outlast me. Whilst a great deal of today’s joinery products use easily manufactured finger joints that rely on adhesives for their strength and fast grown pine with very natural little resistance to rot and decay - I have reverted back traditional joinery techniques that have stood the test of time.

Combined with a carefully considered choice of materials, for example Accoya that is warranted for 50 years against rot and decay above ground and 30 years underwater - I can walk away from a commission knowing what I have created could last centuries, not years.
