I love making doors (somebody has to, right?). This is for two reasons;

Once you turn that handle and step through, the world is left behind and your home, your sanctuary, begins. To be able to design and handcraft this threshold, the object that separates your sanctuary from the outside world is something I take great honour and pride in.

The doorway to a house for many, is also the most distinguishable feature of a home that the outside world will ever see. Just like the clothes we wear or the cars we drive, at just a glance these possessions tell the story of who we are. For this reason, every door I make is totally unique. I don’t have (or want) industrial machinery that will churn out thousands of the same thing, I start with some rough sawn timber and when i’m finished something one of a kind.
